Suspension of Public Mass as of March 20, 2020

The last public Mass at St. Dominic Church before the suspension of public Masses in our diocese will be on Thursday the 19th at 8:15 am. This was not an easy decision made by our bishop. Please keep Bishop Stika in his role as our diocesan shepherd entrusted with the care of the whole flock in your prayers.
    ~Fr. Michael
Effective March 20, the public celebration of Mass in the Diocese of Knoxville will cease. Priests however will continue to celebrate daily Mass. I have also requested that all small Adoration Chapels be closed but all churches remain open with daily adoration. People thus will have the chance to spread out.
I do this with great regret but with prudence and care for all. Many parishes will broadcast Mass and I plan to broadcast daily adoration from my private chapel.
This is the great Lent of the Church.
I have also mandated that all parish and diocesan meetings be postponed until after this Crisis has passed.
I also plan on taping a short video tomorrow to be placed on our website along with other recommendations.
Stay tuned to the diocesan website for more information
    ~The Most Reverend Bishop Stika
